POSITION SUMMARY

The CAH Director of Nursing is accountable for assuring the effective delivery of competent, compassionate, and efficient care within the nursing department of CCMC. S/he is responsible for planning, directing and evaluating activities of the nursing department, implementation of the facility’s mission, vision and goals; and providing leadership and direction in all nursing matter.

S/he leads by example, implementing management techniques and practices that promote a caring work environment that attracts and retains staff.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Current, unencumbered Alaska nursing license, bachelor’s degree preferred
• Minimum 5 yrs direct patient care experience
• Minimum 1 yr supervisory experience
• Knowledge of current nursing practices with strong interpersonal leadership skills
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC
