Job Title: Senior Services Bus Driver and Kitchen Aide

Status: PRN

Supervisor: Dietary Manager

Pay Grade: $17.37 hourly to $24.32 hourly
Department/Division: Senior Services

Classification: Non-Exempt

POSITION SUMMARY

Primary Function: Under the direction of the Dietary Manager, this position requires the ability to drive a bus for the purpose of providing transportation to the elderly and disabled persons of Cordova. Secondary Function: Under the direction of the Dietary Manager, this position will be cross-trained to be the Kitchen Aide, Relief Cook as well as a Dishwasher in the Kitchen. In the event of down times the individual will be asked to perform other duties as needed in the supply dept, maintenance dept and with the Activities Coordinator assisting with long term care residents. The individual may be asked to cover PTO in the event the primary person is out of work.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Drive the bus
  • Perform daily safety checks
  • Write daily reports
  • Assist patrons with special needs as they move around Cordova
  • Perform daily cleaning tasks of the bus
  • Receive calls and schedule rides
  • Monitor ride eligibility
  • Deliver meals and perform light paperwork
  • Kitchen Aide
  • Relief Cook
  • Dishwasher

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION:

High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Must possess a current and valid (clean) Alaska Driver’s License.

EXPERIENCE:

Previous bus driving experience preferred.

REQUIREMENTS:

Must enjoy and work well with the elderly and disabled persons. Have the ability to be tactful and polite with personnel, elderly, disabled persons and the general public.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Upon date of Hire:

  • Current Negative TB Test
  • Ability to Pass a DHSS Criminal History Check and Drug Test
  • Must be current in immunizations
